User guide for online.chessne.com
On this page we will discuss the specifics of NECS’s new homework and online tournaments portal, online.chessne.com
We have sent out emails with login information to all parents who joined us in 2020-21 school year. If you didn’t get the email, reach out to us and we’ll send it to you shortly.
1. Log in
Log in using the credentials that were emailed to you. Your login should start with “nec-“, following by 6 or 7 digit number. You can change your password but do not change the login.
If you don’t remember your password, email us at office@chessne.com and we will reset it for you.

2. The Dashboard
After logging in, you will see the dashboard.

For now, we are going to use the Assignment Tab (paragraph 3), the Tournaments Tab (paragraph 4), and the Chat tab (paragraph 5).
3. The Assignment Tab
You can find your homework assignments under the Assignment Tab. To open the assignments, click on it:
The classes are structured the same. Let’s see how it works by looking closely at the Online Games Class.

After opening it, you will see the list of problems assigned to you.

The homework assignment title will usually start with your level’s name. You can see the deadline for the assignment below its title. In order to complete it, click on the “Solve” button.

You will see the chess problem you have to solve. You need to pick the right move for white (or black) in the set position. Please note: if the right button with two arrows on it is white, it means there are more than one problem for you to solve.
4. The Tournaments
The tournaments are located under the Tournaments tab.

The “Tournaments” tab is located in the last row. Click on it, and you will see the tournament title. After you click on the title, you’ll see the stats of the tournament alongside the purple button titled “Join the tournament”. Click on the button and wait for your opponent to join.
4. The Chat
The Chat tab is also located in the last row.

After you click on the Chat, a window for messages will pop up. The list of contacts is available on the left.
You can chat with your classmates or with any teacher from NECS.
