Tournament participation is a great way to improve your kid’s chess skills and get a higher USCF rating. Playing against other kids in your class is great but it’s even better when you can test your competency by playing against more than 20 players of different age, class or skill level. Let the best one win!

Event Organizer: New England Chess School
Event Location: Online via Zoom, MA
Time Control: G/25,+5 (25 minutes per player with a 5-second bonus per move)
Rounds Time: Round 1: 9am; Round 2: 9:50am; Round 3: 10:40am; Round 4: 11:30am; Round 5: 12:20pm
Byes: Half-point bye issued to late arrivals who miss the first round
Prize Info: Prizes: 1st-3rd; 1st-3rd U500 and a prize for players who achieve 4 points but do not finish top 3, Prizes determined by: 1. Tournament score 2. Tiebreak (Buchholz formula).

Registration – on site: Tournament is going to be held over our internal software. All participants will receive instructions and a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. NECS tournament director is going to be on live session with all players.
Membership requirement: United States Chess Federation (USCF)
Sections: One section, open to all scholastic players Prizes: 1st-3rd, with prizes to top three rated under 500

– USCF membership required, if this is your child’s first tournament please we will create one on site. (There is an additional fee for UCSF membership)
– THIS TOURNAMENT IS MEANT FOR PARENTS THAT VALUE TIME. THERE IS NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. WE PROMISE TO START ON TIME, AND FINISH ALL 5 ROUNDS ON TIME.
Open to all USCF members (membership can be obtained on-site on tournament day)
Time Control: G25 5 sec delay
Rounds Time: Round 1 at 9:00 AM, others ASAP (5 rounds in total)
Byes: no half-point byes
Prize Info: Prizes to the top 3 in each division, and Prizes to everyone who scores at least 4 points but does not win a trophy
